potatoes and leeks

okay. so erik and i have discovered something new in the pharmaceutical world: uber nerds. it's true. they exist right here in iowa city. we discovered this nugget of truth when the lactation consultant recommended that i have my midwife write me a prescription for "all-purpose nipple ointment". erik couldn't figure out why he had to go to the other side of the world to pick it up until he opened the door at pharmacy matters and saw Michael F. mikey was explaining to the guy in front of erik exactly how he planned on mixing this guys meds up for him. once it struck erik that they made all their own drugs and that only uber nerds are capable of doing this, it made it worth the drive to the other side of town. erik was told that we were VERY lucky that they happened to have an extra bottle of the nerd cream (as i fondly call it) on hand or we would have had to wait another day while they whipped up a new batch. lucky us indeed... :)
